Four police officials of UP Police have been awarded Police Medals for Gallantry on the occasion of Republic Day 2014 for showing exemplary courage and merit in performing their duty. Late Govind Singh, an Inspector, was conferred the Police Medal posthumously. The other awardees are Inspector Rajesh Kumar Verma, Sub-Inspector Rakesh Kumar and Head Constable Satyendra Kumar.
It is a matter of great honor for the state police to have been conferred 84 medals on the occasion of 65th Republic Day from a total of 766 Police Medals awarded. 4 President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service, 70 Police Medals for Meritorious Service and 4 President's Correctional Service Medals for Meritorious Service were conferred to the UP Police officials on this Republic Day.
